FVBA / F.A.I.T.H Riders Motorcycle Ministry We are in the beginning stages of providing a new and exciting ministry here in the Fox Valley and it will be based at Calvary Baptist Church of Elgin. It is a motorcycle ministry known as F.A.I.T.H. Riders and the people group that it is designed to reach is motorcycle riders from Elgin and the surrounding communities. We want to use our bikes to reach those who may not normally step foot inside an organized church or bible study. If you are interested in participating or know someone who is please contact either Mark Inman or Richard Springer for more details. The pastor and the missions committee at Calvary have been presented with this opportunity and have given their support. The motorcycle ministry will be presented and voted on at Calvary’s next business meeting in October. If you wish to learn more about opportunity please visit faithriders.com on the internet.Through the ministry of F.A.I.T.H. Riders, bikers and others are learning about Jesus Christ and receiving His awesome gift of salvation and eternal life in Heaven with Him. F.A.I.T.H. Riders is reaching people with their bikes who may not normally step foot into an organized church or Bible study. It's putting rubber, as well as shoe leather, onto the Gospel message. The command of God implores us as we "go into all the world we are to preach the Gospel to all creation" (Mark 16:15); the F.A.I.T.H. Riders take this calling seriously as the lifeblood of its existence and passion. This is a ministry, not a riding club or gang, and our sole purpose is to share the life-changing Good News by equipping the saints to engage in practical ministry opportunities. The purpose of F.A.I.T.H. Riders is to share the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ intentionally and unapologetically to all who have yet to accept Him and to build up the body of Christ through worship, fellowship, discipleship and serving. |
| 2010-2011 Children's Camp Report by Sonia Contreras Hello Everyone, My name is Sonia Contreras and I served as Camp Director for Children's Camp 2010.We had a wonderful experience from planning before camp and that whole week of July 19-23. We had 38 kids. With every ones help and great ideas we chose the theme of Jonah! What's eating you?. Based on the book of Jonah. God blessed us so much during that wonderful week. So many things happened that makes it hard to mention it all. I would like to start with the staff and the hard work they did. This year it was all done with Fox Valley Association churches. Thank you so much to pastor Ruben Raquel for serving as Camp Pastor and our worship leaders and music class from Emanuel, Ale, Kasie, Manny, Sergio, Christian, Mario, and Danny they did a fantastic job. Ivan in woodworking and kitchen service and also the Emanuel crew and Marengo with Joanne and a young man that also help in the kitchen. Our very own from FVBA , Laura (Recreations), Ruth (Crafts), Napoleon II, Sarah, Becky, Brook as team leaders and the teens that McHenry and Marengo brought as helpers. The weather was excellent, the food, Bible Class, Music, Recreation, crafts, swimming, woodworking, archery, hay rides and bonfires and the new friendships. Each day we learn about how God wants to change our character through the book of Jonah and Jesus Parables. Our verse of the week was Jonah 4:2b. At the end of the week at least one kid made a decision and or some made commitments with Christ. It takes this hard working team and our God to make all this possible. FVBA is so blessed to have Children's Camp. We encourage more churches to make plans to come to children's camp next year. Blessings to all Sincerely Sonia Contreras |
