The philosophy behind Southern Baptist
disaster relief efforts has been summed up in the
phrase, "A cup of cold water in Jesus name." We are
following the example of Jesus of
Nazareth when He fed the 5,000 and the 4,000, and His
teachings in the parable of the
Good Samaritan and Matthew 25:32-46. |
The Fox Valley Baptist Association is building a
Disaster Relief Unit that will be able to assist the
Northern Counties of Illinois , State and National SBC Disaster
Relief efforts to provide a 3-5000 meal per day Feeding Unit.
In addition we are working to have enough trained chaplains to
respond with the unit to provide spiritual support to the people
affected by a disaster. Our Lord calls for us as Christians to demonstrate love in the
relief of victims of disasters by using the materials , talents
and and time entrusted to us.
